Sharing And Permissions
NimbusDash sharing controls are part of the Save Dashboard modal. They determine who can find a dashboard on the Load Dashboard page and who can save changes to it.
Public Dashboards
Section titled “Public Dashboards”Select Public when a dashboard should be broadly visible. When Public is selected, role and employee pickers are disabled because the dashboard is not limited to a specific audience list.
Use public dashboards for common reporting views that many users should be able to open.
Role Audience
Section titled “Role Audience”Use Roles to share a dashboard with selected NetSuite roles.
You can select individual roles or use Select All. If Select All is enabled, the individual role picker is disabled.
Role sharing is useful when access should follow job function or NetSuite role setup.
Employee Audience
Section titled “Employee Audience”Use Employees to share a dashboard with selected people.
You can select individual employees or use Select All. If Select All is enabled, the individual employee picker is disabled.
Employee sharing is useful for dashboards intended for a small group or a specific user.
Allow Audience To Edit
Section titled “Allow Audience To Edit”Select Allow Audience to Edit when users in the audience should be able to modify and save the dashboard.
If this is not selected, users may still be able to open and interact with the dashboard, but edit actions such as Save Dashboard and Add Chart can be hidden or restricted.
Owner And Administrator Access
Section titled “Owner And Administrator Access”Dashboard owners and administrators generally have broader access than normal viewers. They can often see or edit dashboards even when audience restrictions apply.
Why Users Cannot See A Dashboard
Section titled “Why Users Cannot See A Dashboard”A user may not see a dashboard if:
- The dashboard is not public.
- Their role is not included.
- Their employee record is not included.
- They lack access to the underlying Saved Search or NimbusQL query.
- The dashboard exists in a different NetSuite account.
If a dashboard appears but cannot be edited, check Allow Audience to Edit and confirm whether the user is the owner or an administrator.
