Saving Dashboards

Saving a dashboard stores the dashboard configuration so you and other users can open it again later from Load Dashboard.

Click Save Dashboard in the top menu bar. NimbusDash opens the Save Dashboard modal.

If you loaded an existing dashboard, the modal may show a message such as You have loaded the saved dashboard: {name}.

Enter a dashboard Name. The name is required. If it is missing, NimbusDash shows Please type in a dashboard name.

You can also enter an optional Description. The description helps users understand what the dashboard is for when viewing dashboard info or choosing a saved dashboard.

Enable Use Cached Data when the dashboard should use prepared cache data instead of loading directly from the source every time. This is helpful for large datasets or dashboards used frequently by multiple users.

See Live Data And Cached Data for details.

The Save modal controls who can see or edit the dashboard:

  • Public makes the dashboard visible broadly and disables role/employee selection.
  • Allow Audience to Edit lets the selected audience modify and save the dashboard.
  • Roles shares the dashboard with selected NetSuite roles.
  • Employees shares the dashboard with selected employees.
  • Select All applies the role or employee audience broadly.

See Sharing And Permissions for details.

Use Save to save changes to the current dashboard.

If you change the name of an existing dashboard, NimbusDash may offer Save As. Save As creates a new dashboard instead of overwriting the loaded one.

If another dashboard already uses the same name, NimbusDash asks whether you want to overwrite it.

If you do not have edit permission, NimbusDash may show You cannot overwrite this dashboard. Try changing the name and saving a new dashboard.

After a dashboard has been saved, the top menu option changes to Quick Save. Quick Save saves changes to the current dashboard without opening the Save Dashboard modal.

Use Quick Save when you want to keep the existing dashboard name, description, cache setting, and sharing options.

Click the caret next to Quick Save to switch back to Save Dashboard when you need to open the full save modal and change save options.

For new unsaved dashboards, NimbusDash shows Save Dashboard without the Quick Save switcher until the dashboard has been saved for the first time.

NimbusDash saves the dashboard configuration, including:

  • Dashboard name and description.
  • Selected data source.
  • Widget layout and chart positions.
  • Grid filters, column order, grouping, pivot state, and display settings.
  • Chart configuration.
  • Dash AI chart configuration.
  • Saved views.
  • Highlighting rules.
  • Custom links.
  • Dashboard settings.
  • Sharing and audience options.

After a successful save, NimbusDash shows a Saved as: {name} message and updates the URL for loading the saved dashboard.
