Keyboard Shortcuts
Keyboard shortcuts help you perform common dashboard actions without leaving the keyboard.
Shortcuts are available on the Dashboard page after a dashboard data source has loaded. On macOS, use Option. On Windows and Linux, use Alt.
View Available Shortcuts
Section titled “View Available Shortcuts”Click the keyboard icon near the dashboard title to open the Keyboard Shortcuts dialog.
You can also press Option + K or Alt + K to open the dialog. Press the same shortcut again to close it.
Supported Shortcuts
Section titled “Supported Shortcuts”Quick Save / Save Dashboard
Press Option + S or Alt + S.
This uses the current default save action:
- If the dashboard is new or the default is Save Dashboard, NimbusDash opens the Save Dashboard modal.
- If the dashboard has been saved and the default is Quick Save, NimbusDash saves the current dashboard immediately.
Add Chart
Press Option + C or Alt + C.
NimbusDash adds a new chart widget and opens the chart editor, matching the behavior of the Add Chart menu option.
Open / Close Dash AI
Press Option + D or Alt + D.
NimbusDash opens the Dash AI assistant panel. If Dash AI is already open, the same shortcut closes it.
Show / Hide Keyboard Shortcuts
Press Option + K or Alt + K.
NimbusDash opens the Keyboard Shortcuts dialog. If the dialog is already open, the same shortcut closes it.
When Shortcuts Are Ignored
Section titled “When Shortcuts Are Ignored”NimbusDash ignores most dashboard shortcuts while you are typing in an input, textarea, select field, or editable text area. This helps prevent accidental dashboard actions while entering values.
Most shortcuts are also ignored while a modal is open. The Keyboard Shortcuts dialog is the exception: Option + K or Alt + K can close it after it is open.
Shortcuts that depend on a dashboard action are only available when the matching dashboard control is visible. For example, Add Chart is not available if the dashboard is read-only and the Add Chart menu option is hidden.
